    Same as tmux, just screens are preinstalled on the ubuntu server which I use most of the times. That's why I always that instead

    Personally using bare metal is ok, but there are stuff that will require you hours to run without containers. Debugging is easier without them, indeed, that's why I just use them to deploy stuff like gitea. If you are a programmer and you know what you are doing just use bare metal with screens or tmux

    Yeah but tmate proxies it up and doesn't require the users to both have access to the server. You can manage the tmate window and give view-only access.
    It has some cool addons features

    It has its use cases when you don't 100% trust the party joining your terminal and also, it's faster then adding a pubkey for ssh.
    Write and command and share a link, it can even be used in the browser

    I use syncthing on daily bases to sync my notes, coding stuff, password vaults etc.
    Super good, sync with any machine and phone
