@xianc78 @KryptoBlok What they really fear is something much simpler: that ordinary people will stop trusting them en masse. That’s the true source of their power. No need for alien spacecraft or advanced technologies. Just plain old faith in the legitimacy of institutions and a lack of curiosity about the character of those who control them.

Since the only point of investing excess wealth is to make it grow, preferably faster than inflation, that doesn’t make any sense. So people are incentivized to seek riskier investments. They’d rather not, but they don’t have a choice. See you see more people investing in things that don’t make sense.
