Watched two cars back into each other at Costco, they both had backup cameras on them. People need to learn how to drive.

People will run red lights like no one's business. I wait 5 seconds before going through a light.

Today we honor Gary Plauché on the 40th anniversary of his heroic deed. Gary's son Jody had been kidnapped by Jeff Doucet, his karate teacher and a trusted friend of the Plauché family. Doucet, with Jody, fled their home state of Louisiana to California. I needn't tell you what horrible things he did to Jody during this time, you can figure it out. Police eventually caught up with Doucet, and on March 16, 1984, he was extradited back to Louisiana.
This incident had been highly publicized, so TV cameras were present for Doucet's perp walk through the airport. Also present? Gary Plauché. See, Gary was FURIOUS that this terrible tragedy had befallen his son, wouldn't ANYBODY be? Wracked with guilt at his own failure to prevent it from happening, he decided to make things right by taking matters into his own hands. As Doucet was led through the airport, Gary turned from the phone booth he'd been standing at and and fired a shot into Doucet's head. Doucet was rushed to the hospital, but died the next day.
Gary's actions were unanimously commended. He was charged with murder, more as a formality than anything else because even the courts were basically like "good job, king." He received no jail time, and was sentenced to 300 hours of community service. Personally, I think he already completed his community service at the airport. Gary expressed no remorse for his actions and when asked about it later, said that he'd do it again. Gary suffered a stroke in 2011 and was moved to a nursing home, where he lived out the remainder of his life until succumbing to a second stroke on October 20, 2014.
