@p I am an effing n00b in regards to coding, let alone software arch, so you can stop reading and safely ignore what I am about to say.
There is a benefit to storing entire JSON in the databases is that it allows you to receive messages you don't fully support yet, and allow for later parsing as features get introduced. So for example: if something like Mastodon, Misskey, whatever introduces meta-URL links to knowyourmemes in posts pl cannot parse, but could at least store them until it is able to parse this on a later date when a similar feature has been introduced.
