@BowsacNoodle @waifu yeah I know. 98% of climate change activism is bureaucrats puppeteering 95 IQ midwits into supporting policy that drains more money out of the middle and lower class. If they actually gave a shit they would go all in on finding more safe ways to do nuclear. Even ultra libshits like the xkcd guy agrees with that (though I'm sure later he had to reverse course over threat of cancelation or something).
Anyway broken clocks and all that. If some rogue scholars want to actually "solve it" in an economical way I'm all for it.
For the record I know whatever they say is blowing it out of proportion by two orders of magnitude, but I doubt that pumping industrial amounts of poo gas into the atmosphere is a good thing. I'm not an environmental sadist.

@waifu @BowsacNoodle I don't really argue about the science side because it's complicated, but I know with cows in particular it's unnaturally high levels of methane they're worried about.

@waifu I like "climate solutions" that cause benefit to us whether or not it's a real problem. Nuclear being a prime example. If seaweed ends up cutting it down by some large margin, that stuff should be cheap as dirt to grow and is probably healthier to eat anyway

@deprecated_ii @waifu @BowsacNoodle like I say, I don't argue about the science part because there's too many variables and I know nothing about it. I base my opinion off the following:
1) it has every single hallmark of a scam. You need to act NOW or ALL of life as you know it WILL END. Oh and by the way it's really really really expensive and I get all the money.
2) not a single thing they propose ever seriously addresses climate. Eg "ban nuclear and import infinityniggers to stop climate change". If they were genuinely fearful that the situation was urgent they wouldn't be dicking around so much.
I don't need any more than that. These things usually work off of some small kernel of truth that is blown 10, 100, x1000 out of proportion. Common sense tells me that 24/7 industrial waste being pumped into the atmosphere is not going to have *no effect*. Just go to major cities and look at the skyline.
