    Game Journos had a looooong shit reputation. If you checked Guru Larry's videos they clearly had a lot of issues with being too close to their advertisers for forever, but at least they didn't shit on customers back then

    But the Internet in general really went and fucked up their main source of income

    But really, it's been one thing after another with game journos. The AAA game shilling during the 7th was frightening

    Basically the bay area morons, too close to the subject they're writing about, failed actual journalists, etc.

    But yes, Youtubers and let's plays and all that completely replaced them, mostly because a lot of written game reviews are generally so lazy they're practically useless while you can just quickly watch a YouTube video of it in action to quickly see what the game is actually like instead
