    @JedKron1248 Agreed. And this is my own opinion, but I'm quite tired of the government telling us to stay home and/or cancelling social events because of a vague concern. If people want to celebrate Halloween on the streets of Shibuya, they should do it, _even_if_, and maybe even _especially_if_ the government doesn't want them to. People have self-determination.

    In my view the government became overconcerned because of the Seoul Halloween crowd crush [ link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seoul_Halloween_crowd_crush ] which was in part due to failure to prepare for crowds.

      Around 10:20 p.m. on 29 October 2022, a crowd crush occurred during Halloween festivities in the Itaewon neighborhood of Seoul, South Korea. According to the South Korean government, 159 people were killed and 196 others were injured. The death toll includes two people who died after the crush. The victims were mostly young adults; 27 of the victims were foreign nationals. The crowd crush is the deadliest disaster in South Korea since the sinking of MV Sewol in 2014 and the largest mass casualty event in Seoul since the Sampoong Department Store collapse in 1995. It is the deadliest crowd crush in the country's history, surpassing a 1959 incident at the Busan Municipal Stadium in which 67 people were crushed to death.A special police team conducted an investigation of the disaster within a few days of it occurring, and concluded on 13 January 2023 that the police and governments' failure to adequately prepare for the crowds, despite a number of ignored warnings, was the cause of the incident.     I locked in my ticket for Usada Pekora’s “1st Usada PekoLive -USAGI the MEGAMI!!” concert event *. As usual, I’ll be watching the stream instead of attending it in person. If I get hired in Japan, I’ll probably get a lot of use out of these streams as they’ll allow me to virtually attend these things even if I can’t get time off of work.

    If I do get hired in Japan, I’d like to try to use my vacation time in October so I could still do AWA and Wasabicon in the States. From what I remember, October is not a particuarly travel-heavy month so airfare shouldn’t be that expensive then either.

Not for everyone, but a private version of peertube for only a single user (me) and a fairly large storage cap (100gb would be good) that I could use to share unlisted content to a channel on cytube.

    @Zerglingman I understand why they're doing it but as a foreigner that wants to live in Japan, I hope this doesn't become too common. I want to go around Japan to travel and visit places. I am not Asian and I can't pass for one even if my Japanese is okay.
