@clarity Librewolf, Waterfox, Icecat — all of these are based on FF, not sure if they are still maintained. But there is little point in it as they are basically Firefox with different defaults. And it used to have a reusable core, but I don't think it's still maintained. Sadly, they have abandoned it and webapp/site-specific-browser mode too 😩
@theorytoe ESPECIALLY compared to that of VLC! If I was asked to name a few UIs I'd like to never ever use again, VLC would be one of the top ideas 😅 @Kerosene@disarray
@Tony@dcc > you just have to type like one line of code every 90 days Calling certbot from a corn job has never failed me, it failed to run once in a year and only because I was stupid and the system was overtaxed. I only got an email warning that time, the next week it ran fine and the only cert that had been expiring was renewed 🤷
@SuperSnekFriend Is this why Marx have been calling religion "The opium of the people"? 🤔 Mind you, I'm not making fun of your beliefs, but I find it ironic that you did this.
@Tony@dcc I have 200 on this instance, but only ~30 Kirbys. I approve my followers and I'm probably not quick enough to approve them before he moves to the next one 😅
@kirby I sometimes like them and I still haven't disabled them on my instance, but some people just get TOO annoying with them 😩 @RustyCrab@Zerglingman
@MK2boogaloo I do like meaningful soundtracks that have artistic value even outside of the game TBH Transistor OST is a great example of one: https://supergiantgames.bandcamp.com/album/transistor-original-soundtrack I have it on CD that came with deluxe edition of the game and I sometimes listen to it even though I haven't played the game in years. I think Darren Korb did an impressive job with it and with Bastion soundtrack too. I presume both of their later games have good OSTs too, but I'm yet to play them.
@MK2boogaloo I know a few examples of soundtracks that do have statement and were also done to promote the game… But I know even purer form — elevator music! That one definitely doesn't have any statement at all and wasn't made to sell anything 😂
@splitshockvirus Yeah, I've been thinking about that. To me Japanese doesn't look expressive enough for you to be rude without being wordy. I mean you can probably tell apart not caring about you from outright hating, but not the finer grades. Probably why manga is popular, so violence can be… violent without becoming a whole page of text. So all interactions are more "distant" than in "rude" languages. Just my impression of language I barely understand, I might be wrong. @theorytoe@not_benis
@dcc Man, you were absolutely right, using web UI in mobile web browser isn't as bad as I expected it to be — had to alter a few things with CSS tweaks to make that floating/persistent header smaller and tweak the reply dialog to make the text box visible at all when replying to longer posts — it was concealed by onscreen keyboard. Pleroma is even better, required even fewer tweaks. And even notifications work in Fennec F-droid! Now I can get rid of Tusky and Husky
@thatguyoverthere@fribbledom I've seen wall switches with such a mode decades ago: it just turned the lights on once in a few hours for random period of time. Neat trick, but I think they are aware of this already and if they have spotters, those probably pay more attention to actual people coming and going than lights, and if they are amateurs — it probably won't stop them anyway 😄
@fribbledom > you get the ability to control your lights while away from home using their mobile app Is it only me who finds this funny? Why would I want to control lights away from home, to give my cats a scare? 🤪 I mean, you might have cameras installed which might be not infrared and in this case you might want to control lights too, but it seems to me to be a very narrow corner case.
NoneJust in case: DMs/PMs simply don't exist on this instance as concept — don't use them, use the other instance if you absolutely have to, or send an email to any address at m0xEE.Net or .Com or .Org, but I prefer keep most communication public.
