@cjd i'm kinda happy about it, people did trust academia but don't trust AI, so if it turns out that most papers are 'ai assisted', this should be a good way to get a better scientific establishment going or at least take funds away from the old one.

@cjd it's the same when people talk about 'greed' as the reason for rents being high (in berlin, for example). Why don't they just buy stock in those publicly traded real estate companies and offset the 'greed'? Because they'd find out that those super greedy companies have these 1 to 2% profit margins.

@kakafarm Yes, I think so. It's more light hearted than ubik for sure. How did you like Amber? I read it too last year, I think it's not really 'deep' in any sense but it's just such a good story, so well written.

@angelastella @overstrike apparently they did copy it and send the copies in to the publishers, but the publishers had a policy of ONLY accepting originals, so they had to send the cat pee manuscript later lol
