    Well, at least I've seen some post about it, accompanied by screenshots (probbly from Twatter) of artists accusing devs of stealing — you know, the usual :marseyemojismilemouthcoldsweat:
    Considering that artists who worked on the game worked at some diner before that — I won't be surprised they did indeed use a NN to generate some of the game's content :marseylaugh:

    Please tell me this game is actually any good and you all aren't posting about it only because some artists got butthurt about characters generated by a neural network.
    If it weren't on Fedi and I didn't know you guys, sure as hell I'd think it's being astroturfed.
    I get flashbacks to the time when Harry Potter game came out — also myriad of related posts, but nothing about the game itself, unlike e.g. the Cat Game™ — which was also insanely popular on Fedi (and probably everywhere else), but posts about which had screenshots, videos, discussions about the game itself, etc. :marseythinkorino:
    This… is McDonald's family ad over again: "Oh, look, someone got triggered by family not being black, ha-ha!". This time it's about the game being good, is it? Is it? :cat_peek:

      Z is a 1996 real-time strategy computer game by The Bitmap Brothers. It is about two armies of robots (red and blue) battling to conquer different planets. A sequel, Z: Steel Soldiers, was published in 2001. Plot The game opens with Commander Zod shooting the Bitmap Brothers Logo off the screen. Meanwhile, a Supply Ship is adrift in space. Its occupants, two robots named Brad and Allan, wake up to the radio buzzer. The two find two new messages from Commander Zod. The first shows Zod telling about his delivery, one hour overdue; the second shows him threatening to "kick their red butts" if he finds out about them slacking off. Allan and Brad just resume their mission. The two constantly steer the ship in a bunch of twists and turns (one sends them knocking the game's title into the opening credits, which are just visible in space), and finally arriving at their first destination. Their mission sends them across twenty levels on five planets, fighting enemy soldiers. Only when the five planets are conquered will the party begin.     Civilian casualties doesn't always mean that civilians were the target. Belgorod is right near the border, it's in the range of long range munitions, but could said munitions be shot down over residential ares by anti-ballistic defenses by mistake? Yeah, they could — that's a plausible theory. And that is exactly what Ukraine claims it was by the way. Ukraine's officials have a pretty good track record as information source, Russian officials don't — see, doesn't take a lot of mental gymnastics. Demanding surgical precision from the party that is being attacked like that every day — now that would involve some.

    Right now I have reasons to not trust even the casualty count TBH — because I never trust Russian official sources. Were independent journalists, including those from foreign information agencies still be allowed to operate, that wouldn't be a problem. Luckily, I have my own sources in Belgorod — timing isn't the best, but it won't be hard to check if it's more or less close to reality, but until then, I still have my doubts.
    The fact that there were civilian casualties — I don't doubt that, neither Ukraine denies it, but the intent — that has to be investigated. Remember certain flight MH17 when versions started popping up by dozens from the Russian side: from Ukrainian jet to US satellite to ground SAM system (but the one that didn't belong to Russia) to fucking martians. I think that is what we are going to see in the coming days, place your bets.

    They might be, unfortunately I'm not familiar with the original material and I'm pretty sure it gets some interesting development further down the storyline, but that's not the point — I just don't like how this was executed. This is not how you do plot twists — they should not only extend the plot, but give earlier events another interpretation — not the one you've been expecting, even though that might have seemed quite logical up to this point. Kunihiko Ikuhara is the true master of this — every show by him is like a maze: it's like you leave the room and realize that all the global plot is way bigger, you just couldn't see it while you were inside that room, you might have thought that some characters are evil, but then — boom, no, in fact their actions are completely justified, maybe you'd do the same if you had their reasons, then you find the exit even from that room, the plot is even bigger than that, then another room and another one! Mawaru Penguindrum does this about 5-6 times — all within a 2-cour show. In the end he still managed to fuck the finale up and make it an incomprehensible mess, but I have digressed…
    But what do we have here? So, he wasn't acting alone and had co-conspirators — wow? No! More like: so what?! It means that we will see season 2, but wasn't it obvious that it's not the end of the story. I mean even the cat and the motor cycle from the opening post — they've only been used for comic relief, while it's obvious both of them have bigger roles to play, they didn't have to squeeze this plot turn into the final episode, it was wrong and lame IMO :cirno_shrug:
