@matana I understand how you feel, that having your post marked as sensitive against your will is tantamount to censorship. It is changing the way it was originally published even if the art itself has not been changed. But baraag being an adult website means I need to act safer than sorry with regard to what is to be considered “sensitive” in context with the entire community. In the US, 19 states have already enacted age verification laws against porn platforms. There is a target on our backs.

@matana the subject matter itself is not disagreeable, certainly not a bannable offense or warrants deletion. The content has not been forcefully changed with mosaics/bars. On other platforms such as pixiv, content marked sensitive requires viewers to log in with an account to even see it, limiting overall reach. Yet baraag requires a simple click-through, the smallest inconvenience even for content we may disagree on what is explicit and what is not in order to comply with age restriction laws.

@matana did the statues of mermaids featuring full frontal nudity share the same exhibition space with other works of art featuring graphic depictions of sexual intercourse? Could a child wander from seeing a naked sculpture to seeing a loli getting gangbanged all within the same place?

While it was another staff member who marked your posts as sensitive, we reserve the right to do so because this entire space is NSFW by association when pinups and artistic nudes would be safe out of context.

@morphz @MajorCrasher baraag reserves the right to enforce rules regarding tagging and marking adult media as sensitive content. I am unsure if this is misconstrued as a form of censorship, but it is never a requirement to add mosaics/bars to genitals on one’s art that is uploaded here.

That being said, I support the right of an artist to voluntarily censor their own works for whatever reason it may be such as offering uncensored to supporters or to retain communication with misskey.io users.

@MajorCrasher @morphz I have never banned and warned an artist for uncensored 3D works. However, there has been a longstanding rule that all posts featuring it must be tagged with #3D or face potential moderation.

@milk01 substar won’t ban you for it, but I heard that you will have a better chance at getting approved if you link to a social media/gallery page that doesn’t feature and loli/shota when you apply.

@uwaa before the edit feature is added on their end, ideally the misskey devs would add the feature that most other fediverse software is already capable of doing, which is to simply reject media from other servers instead of resorting to a full on ban.

There would be no need to ban users for non-compliant censorship and break federation between our communities when the easy solution is to just reject all incoming media from loading on misskey’s end.

After misskey.io has lifted the ban on your baraag, please be aware that going forward you must *always* initially upload a censored version first. Then edit it with the uncensored version.

This is a workaround to comply because misskey software is unable to comprehend mastodon edits. So users on their end will only ever see the original censored version that was first posted.

If your baraag account is banned by misskey.io and you wish to restore federation.

Go through all NSFW uploads & edit them with a censored version.

@Kommandoh here is what you can do. You can edit your posts to be censored and then go to the misskey support page to submit an appeal to have the limit on your baraag account lifted.

1st drop down menu, leave default.
2nd input box, your email address.
3rd input box, title subject
4th input box, select the third option
5th input box, Kommandoh@baraag.net
6th input box, explain you have censored

After the appeal is successful, you may then go back and edit your posts once again to uncensored.

@metataEX misskey.io will ban baraag.net users for posting uncensored art.

There is a trick however. You can upload as censored first, then edit the post and replace it with an uncensored version. Misskey software will only see the original censored version that was initially posted.

You can also try to make an appeal to misskey.io staff to have them lift the suspension on your baraag account.
