The more I study Japanese and Japanese culture the more I realize that Japanese people are able to do things that Westerners wouldnt even dream of. They can fall asleep on trains safely, leave doors unlocked, drop their wallets and have them given to the police, build wooden structures that last for centuries, keep family lineages going back thousands of years, and more. All things that we would see as miraculous to have in our own countries

The freeloader problem in Japan basically doesnt exist in any large capacity. Its socially unacceptable to leave trash outside, which is why their cities are so clean. They dont often destroy old buildings, and if they do the building that replaces it doesnt often look like an eye sore. They have rustic themes towns meant for vacationing, and they have lots of camping and hiking. Ancient buddhist shrines dot the mountain sides. Considering how much love a guy like me gets in the US, I could easily see myself living there. Time will tell though. I wont know until I arrive
-
Japans far from perfect. There are definitely places with trash, and its an aging society, much like America. America has all the problems that Japan has, but way worse and then with other problems tacked on. Japan seems far tamer in comparison.

@WashedOutGundamPilot Im getting to that age now where I start feeling increasingly driven to get married and have kids
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @Platinum I have specifically learned not to do that because I've lived through an era where ethical beliefs change at the drop of a hat, but I don't blame other people for not getting that. Its not normal historically.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @Platinum I've tried explaining the whole different culture thing before but that doesn't work. I don't really know why it doesnt. I guess older folks just assume the entire world has the same morality as a 1940s upper middle class protestant white American
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @Platinum I told my grandparents something to this effect the other day. I said that you can't take anything for granted. I explained to them that most people in the modern day believe morality is subjective, and it actually got through to them.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @Platinum Most parents completely fail to raise their children with any kind of moral compass at all. Just having a strong sense of ethics and belief is usually enough to steer someone on the right direction
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot I am getting into it. I just have to finish my degree. Wasn't implying I didn't
-
Children in minecraft have a far far better sense of aesthetic beauty than professional architects do. Pic related is a Japanese style Catholic church
-
The reason I wanted to get into the childcare industry in the first place was because I knew that children are one of the few sources of purity left in the world. They don't worship evil like adults do.
-
"And what did you do then mr. conservative"
"Oh? Nothing again?"
"Gosh mr. conservative you sure seem to like not doing anything"
-
Whats the deal with people overfeeding their dogs? Do they want them to suffer like them so that they dont feel alone in being a fat slob?
-
My stepmother spends more time doting after her disgusting overfed chihuahuas than she does with her daughter
-
@Terry Western dads are like "so what if my daughters a shitlib cam whore empty egg carton. Thats her choice!"
-
@YTFoidLover1488 @Terry I'm not really sure how gen alpha are going to grow up, especially the children of only fans whores. I hated my childhood and was sad for most of it because of parental problems, but I had nothing close to a camwhore mother. Zoomers already hate the world. Gen alpha will probably just be school shooters, druggies, or some form of faggot
-
@Royper lmao. Bro I wish the magnum from Halo was a real gun
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot Metamorphosis and Frankenstein are both pretty good. No idea why they're meant to be conservative reading though
-
In a German squad most of the work was expected to be done by the machine gunner. The riflemen's jobs were to protect the MG at all costs and they were also expected to carry ammunition for him if he needed it.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @Shadowbroker2135 @skylar @SpaceElf @King_Porgi I'm sure Ernst Junger said "dude" often. Coulda fooled me
