@lain@polarisera Maybe they are just schadenfreude snobs, have high standards for their spiteful celebration, and only do that when really really bad things happen to their enemies.
@nyanide@pernia@Merc What's the deal with this thread? Who are you people? Why are you asking me, a random Internet person with the profile picture of a stylised toilet and the named "kakafarm", for my opinions?
@nyanide@pernia Sure, why not. It is funny and no one is taking it seriously. Also, is this "weeabob" guy a paying customer or just some random on the Internet? The opinions of random Internet people should be a low priority to MPV authors, to you, and to me, including the opinions I am expressing here in this conversation.
@lain@EmoIsDeadAndSoAmI There was one Israeli documentary about a grandpa going to far south east Asia to visit his grandson. The grandson finished his mandatory 3 year IDF service and was on his big trip.
At a certain point the grandpa makes a snarky comment about how every youngin there wears the same kind of "I am different" cock-like feathers fancy uniform.
No idea what was its name. It pops into my mind every time people talk about hipsters.
Oh, and the racist comedy duo Key & Peele did a somewhat relevant bit about someone wearing steampunk crap.
@lain Am I reading that in the right order or am I having a stroke?

kakafarm> Back in the 70s, Gygax was criticized for including tons of unnecessary tables in the D&D rules. When he wrote the Urban Random Encounter table in the DMG, he added a "Harlot subclass table" so the DM could roll up exactly what kind of Harlot the party randomly encountered in a city. Then he flipped through a thesaurus to find a bunch of flowery adjectives as descriptions. The whole thing was a joke --it was a ridiculous 'easter egg' hidden in the back of the DMG, with the hopes that when a DM rolled an encounter and flipped to the page, they were presented with a ridiculous table complete with completely unnecessary procedures to follow. The only thing more ridiculous than this table, is actually taking it seriously.
