@nixCraft My first laptop had a switch with which you could turn off the builtin microphone. Long lost technology.

Yeah, not on my watch. And certainly not on my PC or on my phone.
Also Google wants me to create an account so i can continue watching videos on Youtube, which i have done for the last 10+ years without ever been accused of being a robot. There will be world peace before that happens.
Yes, i listened to Kraftwerk, but that doesn't count, right?

I think that's not what the Teamsters did, but Amazon itself.
..."unions represent only about 1 percent of the workforce of Amazon"
So they already factored in that the intimidation of the workers worked and only a small number joined the unions.
Disgusting.

That simple.
Solution for years and any circumstance where you do not want to be tracked. Simply have nothing on you which can be tracked. Oh, and have some cash on you.Lawmakers must act now? Really? What about common sense first? Works immediately until the lawmakers have a ruling in 5-10 years for this issue.

6 months later you can read: "Microsoft defuses hardware requirements because people still reluctant to upgrade to Windows 11. CEO apologizes. Shares go up 2% after announcement"

Brokar (brokar@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 21-Nov-2024 02:51:39 JST Brokar Well, i guess you had your data exported before deactivation. Why not send a separate email for every post you made, asking them to delete the 'specific data', namely the post?
I think everybody should do that after deletion. See if they react a little more forthcoming when the inbox gets flooded. And why do they think that article 17 doesn't apply to them? The only loophole i see is that they call on article 17 p.3d, for archieving purposes. But that would be a stretch before court.

They should be paying that amount multiplied by the amount of times they got previously caught with something.

I am more astounded over the fact that people are actually astounded by that.I would have put 90% of my money on that fact if we had to bet on it.

But politicians get so much money from them that they care more about invasive, parasitic business than the safety and privacy of their constituents. And you voted for him (well, somebody did)!

I know that many small businesses have hotmail, gmx, t-online, gmail accounts. because they're free of charge.
The emails you need to be sensible about are HTML emails, there it's possible to visibly disguise the target http link.
Every serious company has a link in it so that you can see the HTML in the browser. So rather than blocking, switch off emails with HTML content.
With text-only emails you always see the actual link. -

This is still paid by the tax payer, you (which is also the expensive part of running a nuclear power plant), for the next <insert any number between 100 and 5,000,000> years.
So thank you all for support and helping Microsoft running the AI crap.
