@aral The thing I hate the most about this vacuous, facile position is that they're the very people who are accepting the black and white (read blue or red) by consistently failing to see that "third candidates" - whatever their stripe - might actually be a more worthwhile choice but their own need to run with the crowd keeps them in the very lane they think they're voting their way out of.
I invite you to consider the level of hysteria with which this would be reported in the western media if it were an Israeli synagogue. Spoiler alert - it's getting no coverage, at least in the Guardian. The BBC isn't even running a blog that I can find.

72yo bookseller Mohammad Aziz, lives in Raba, Morocco, where he spends an average of 6-8hrs a day reading - having read more than 5,000 books in French, Arabic and English. He has sat in this position for over 43 years. When asked about putting books outside, where they may be stolen, he replied: โThose who cannot read do not steal books and those who read books are not thieves.โ
@aral Oooh, I'd avoided that because of the usual inversely proportionate quality of adaptation inception. Grabbing it now! Just what I need to take my mind off the epic amount of money I've spent on wildly impractical clothing today ๐คฃ
Five Just Stop Oil activists are being sentenced in Southwark this morning, facing as much as 10 years in prison for walking down the road. The judge has already indicated that he intended to hand down "long, long sentences", saying that "facing the end of the world is neither here nor there". The trial was witnessed by UN Special Rapporteur Michael Forst, who had this to say: https://juststopoil.org/2024/07/11/5-just-stop-oil-supporters-found-guilty-as-un-slams-trial/ This is how the five were met at the court this morning โ ๐งก
