even the nvidia stuff is a bit slower on windows (there's no Triton Kernel for windows yet), but at least python and everything see the GPU fine and it generally just works, for stable diffusion, for LLMs, for whisper, for spleeter, etc etc etc

picofarad (picofarad@noauthority.social)'s status on Wednesday, 15-May-2024 11:46:18 JST picofarad @xianc78 SDXL models can use >16GB of vram, so my recommendation is a 24GB 3000 series. 3090ti if you can swing it, or a 3090 (what i got for this). if you don't need to generate images 1024px on any side, you can get away with an 8 or 12GB card, such as a 2080ti or a 3060.
If you want to get some work in, the intel arc with 16GB kinda works for stable diffusion, and you might be able to get some cheap. Ignore that people complain about black images - you just need to turn off floating point.
