I left the computer lab. Not been concentrating on my assigned tasks for the past few days, and it was making me a bit uneasy to sit there in silence next to people I can't interact with. I'm in the lobby now, where I have accidentally become the doorman.

The right wingers treated him slightly better.

People want to be liked. Perhaps especially slightly autistic people with marriage problems. The nerd entrepreneurs of Silicon Valley aren't exactly popular. But they probably wish they were.

So he did more stuff to get liked. You excite a lot more people with antics like his than with something like the Gates foundation, which nobody cares about even though it's doing important work.

In the process, he got even more negative feedback from the left and even more positive feedback from the right. You can see how this works.

Feeling very attached to rituals and traditions might be a sign that you're a tad neurotic. It MUST be JUST so, or it upsets you.

Neurotic people can't control their own feelings so they control their surroundings instead.

This is basically also a form of neuroticism. If it's predictable, it's like a ritual, which is less scary.

There are sex differences in neuroticism. Women have more of it on average, but the gap narrows with time. By the time a woman is 65, she has the emotional stability of a 35-year-old man.

old friend of mine who doesn't really express political views much can't add me on Mastodon. his instance blocked berserker.town. for someone who never has opinions, strict moderation isn't a problem. they don't even notice it. same is true of countries. you can live in an oppressive regime and be not notice a problem until you open your mouth.
