my problem isn't that i'm bad at reading body language. it's more that i can intensely read it, and it can make me nervous.

@thatguyoverthere i mean, if there's a smooth way of doing that which doesn't ruin the mood...

there isn't much verbal consent involved the first time two lovers kiss. no one asks anyone. there is just a sudden pause in the conversation, looks of desire, and then...

body language is a language. it can be used to express consent but also dissent.

if you lean in for a kiss and the other person turns their face down or away, that means "no", for example.

maybe some people have to say words and hear words to get the message across though, because they're not good at reading body language.

if you hear something often enough, from people around you, or from your own inner monologue, you start believing it after a while.

it doesn't matter how smart you are. this affects everyone to some extent.

be careful about what you feed into your brain.

it's a bit weird to be giving people career tips when i don't really believe in careers anymore

but i don't have a better recipe

@thatguyoverthere @Iliza_dAr i managed to avoid WordPress for most of my career. most of my jobs involved working on systems that didn't use WordPress. at one point, i did work a bit on a Magento site though.

@thatguyoverthere @Iliza_dAr many people make their living on customising WordPress sites, but it's quite messy. it's not elegant, but it works.

@Iliza_dAr you can get a programming job without a degree if you make a full site from scratch and show it off at the interviews - even more easily so if you already have some job experience

@Iliza_dAr usually these days people tend to specialise - front end (HTML/JS) or back end (Python/C#/Java/Ruby/etc) - but being full stack is attractive

and not so much the databases, and the other stuff behind the show? (back end)

front end programming

front end design

the programming is what makes it function, and not just be a static page that does nothing.

the design is the visuals, how it looks.

which direction are you thinking about?

some people take the normie thing way too seriously - i mean, it starred as a joke word in Family Guy...
