    Lucasfilm has been doing endless streaming Star Wars series because there is no accountability. A certain number of Disney+ subscribers will watch anything new, so you're never going to have a clear bomb. Another boxoffice bomb and the board of directors might start thinking about a management shakeup.

    The last theatrical Star Wars feature was in 2019. Marvel kept going, Pixar kept going, even Indiana Jones stumbled a few more steps towards the grave. But not Star Wars, among their most expensive acquisitions.

    @JohnChimpo Yeah, Force Awakens is mostly mediocre but it's like Avatar, a fun theme park ride to sit through once or twice. Only Ford and Driver elevate their scenes to something approaching real Star Wars.

    Rian Johnson scuttled the franchise and not even master hack Jar-Jar Abrams could salvage the wreck.

    @JohnChimpo Yeah, Johnson didn't learn the first rule of Star Wars - keep contemporary terminology to the absolute minimum. Talking about being on hold takes you out of the story as hard as a joke about airline food would. His tone deafness extends to the visuals. If a real world object is seen it must be entirely repurposed.

    I was looking into the background of The Acolyte, the next Star Wars streaming series. It's set 50 years before Episode 1 and features multiple Jedi knights. The trailers are terrible.

    While pondering my Sith Holochron it popped into my head, 'Why not have a Jedi wookiee? That would at least be something cool that we haven't seen in live action before.'

    aaaaaand... the show is going to feature a Jedi wookiee! They just could not be bothered to show him. Instead it's ugly females and more boring old human Jedi knights doing unimaginative Jedi training that we've seen before.

    Mind you the first trailer dropped in March and everyone hated it. They had two months to get it together. Disney doesn't even know how to market what they have.

    It's likely the nig teams going after Trump have been given hint after hint to back off and they either didn't pick up on it or did the usual nigga 'fuck you, I won't do what you told me.'
