@feditips Related? As a voter I’ve sometimes seen long, wordy options that are truncated on mobile before I can see what differentiates one from another. There’s no way I know of to inspect the full text of the label. Maybe some clever person could make that enhancement? #Mobilizon servers let groups create events where participants can sign up, even without an account.

Mobilizon group accounts can be followed from Mastodon etc so people can see that group's new events appear in their home feed.

It's made by @Framasoft, the same people who make @peertube and provide all kinds of nice free open source online services.

One of my reoccurring unsolved problems is, finding stuff i know exists but I only remember fragments about.

E.g. I know I follow a person but can't recall their handle. Search is useless as i can't restrict it to "following". Handle auto-completion only works if i know enough of the beginning of the handle.
Essentially I have to scroll through my followings, bookmarks, favourites or wherever I think I find them easiest

Is this a client problem?
Are there client which offers a "following" search?

Today, a very niche tip for RSS fans :rss:

As well as Mastodon's built-in hashtag following system, you can also follow hashtags through RSS instead:

1. Search for a hashtag on a Mastodon server's website
2. Add .rss to the end of the URL
3. Use this URL as the feed address for that tag

For example to subscribe to #Dinosaurs on mstdn.social you would use this address in your feed reader:

However, as you're on the.art instance, you should have a ton of artists in your home feed.

I was just as lost as you in late 2022 when I first joined.

As a good starting point, follow the account @feditips , and the hashtag #feditips . It will give you a better experience.

Feel free to ask me if you want. I'm no expert, but I might know who to ask to get an answer to your question.

Most people following accounts on the Fediverse's video and audio platform PeerTube are actually on different Fediverse platforms like Mastodon etc. They will see your uploads in their Home timelines on Mastodon etc, in chronological order mixed in with all the non-PeerTube posts.

If you're a publisher on PeerTube, it's probably a good idea to avoid massive batch uploads, so you're not suddenly flooding your followers' timelines with videos/episodes.

You'll also get a lot more boosts if you add descriptions, because a lot of people only share posts that have descriptions.

Why do our own social graph numbers and the number of boosts and faves per post vary so much — sometimes by a *lot* — from one instance to the next – for the same account?

The numbers we see in our own account on our home server is not necessarily what other servers see. But why? 🤔

As many of you know, the third party iPhone/iPad app Metatext is no longer being maintained as the lead developer had health issues.

However, there is now a community-maintained version of the app called Feditext. You can follow the latest news about it at:
