Same thing as kiwifarms’ unpaid social workers, actually. It’s like how the water in a nuke pool accumulates heavy metals and has to be flushed out, being an internet creators picks up toxins from seeing all kinds of shit and hashing out endless arguments.
That’s why I just blow it off whenever old guys bitch about it, I know where they’re coming from because a whole lot of nasty stuff gets its roots in kids falling down the 2d rabbit hole. Futa penis, NTR, rape, toddlercon, all of it stems primarily from young kids blowing out a section of their brain early on in life and chasing a high they can’t feel anymore.
Also the TRS guys are just…..a little too young or inexperienced to be statesman. Maybe in time they’ll give out more measured, diplomatic takes, but they’re still locked into the mindset of being podcaster/youtubers more than men of history. It’s a metamorphosis that will take some time, converting their habits away from the low-brow drama pool of internet slapfights and into the high-minded diplomacy required to make as few enemies as possible with every statement.
