In terms of books... I actually can't recommend that much tbh. Like I won't recommend Maximum Ride because halfway through it becomes all climate change shit; the first few books are ok, but tbh the books that preceeded them (I think the first one is called the Lake House) are better. My maths teacher was right about Patterson: He writes shit.
Same for Tamora Pierce. She pretty much only knows how to write one story, "grrl power", which I happen to enjoy. Although the Beka Cooper books are a decent departure, in their setting.
I don't really read that many books...

Instead, I can recommend a metric fuckton of manga and anime, and no small portion of music (mostly metal) and games, both vidya and boardgames.
