Think of it like….owning a dog as bad as that sounds. You know there are some things that you do, and some things you do not. It takes stress away from her when you put your foot down and get rid of a decision for her.
One I point to a lot is being the bad guy and telling people we aren’t going to their weddings if we don’t know them (i.e. they want gifts). My girl would NEVER be able to cancel or no-show, but I can be the asshole and say “yeah I hate those things, I’m not going. I want her staying home w/ me”. She gets to shrug to people and act like it’s out of her hands, have a clean conscience.
(it’s also funny to have people think I’m super controlling and mean, b/c they always end up confused when we meet IRL.)
