he's always been clear that he plans a clear path for old instances to migrate to Ditto.

Never heard about that. The only compat thing that I heard about was that it was supposed to support AP and he achieved that I think. And even if he planned that, I think it wouldn't be a complete DB ingest migration which means it's completely useless for every existing Rebased users. It might happen eventually, but currently the schemas are vastly different and his schema currently has more perf issues than Pleroma.

And considering that he left the Rebased project completely unmaintained, only to come back last month with a meaningless change with "Hey look I made a Rebased update." in the description, I think it's safe to say that the possible migration ship has already sunk. The last time upstream was merged was a year ago and since then there were some security fixes put in place. Nothing substantial, but it shows he doesn't care. If you don't care enough to apply security fixes to your fork, you don't care about its users either.

Graf did that same. I don't remember him bitching about Gleason in public before he abandoned Rebased.
