i sometimes think i'm a big ol' degenerate but at least i pay my own bills, buy my own food, live away from home, positively contribute to society, and have some semblance of integrity and public decency. i still have some friends that live with their parents and go to college doing pretty much nothing with their lives and i'm almost 30. wtf man.

1) Humans should not live alone, unless it's necessary.
2) You can absolutely learn how to cook, clean and live under the guide of your parents. It's actually better that way. And if you have a multi-generational household, it makes parenting easier. Most decent grandparents would love to spend a few days a week with the kids. And the adults need help.
3) Even if nothing else, it helps you save up for an actual house. Money should not be flowing at any cost.xianc78 likes this. -

I have a friend that went through med school and for most of that time he did live with his parents so he would have money to actually do that without killing himself. That's something I can respect.
I think kids should separate from their parents as soon as feasibly possible because it helps them become their own person and it gives people a real reason to exist beyond just becoming a blob with no direction in life.
I get that it's hard these days to actually move out because of older generations screwing shit, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to become independent to the best of your ability.

if parents dislike that, they can move, they had entire deck stacked up in their favor and fucked up an entire country to the point of it ceasing to exist

it's not fine to live with your parents when you are doing nothing but playing video games and taking generals in college.
