     @serrq it's possible. I don't know about ZEC except that I think I remember something about them being willing to work with regulators wrt traceability. All I know about pirate chain is that dollar vigilante (crypto vigilante) used to (probably still is) shill it pretty hard. I don't know what math is used in either. I am only barely starting to understand *some* of the math behind monero.

     @thatguyoverthere the most secure crypto coin currently are zcash (ZEC) and pirate chain (arrr) due their cryptographic nature.

     @thatguyoverthere @serrq zcash trusted setup ceremony accidentally leaked some of the setup parameters in a transcript of the event and the actual ceremony creates toxic waste data that if not destroyed can be used to countfereit new coins. some of the participants also apparently did a bad job of this. the good news is if even one member of the ceremony successfully destroys their portion of the toxic waste then the master private key can't be reconstructed. also zcash replaced their zksnark implementation at some point and did a newer and better ceremony with more participants and apparently didn't repeat any flubs.
     
     I used to have some interactions with zooko and i think he is probably the highest caliber of person and to be honest that gives me some faith in zcash. i find it disheartening that so many monero people attack him and it's so frequently really unfair attacks. i don't hold it against the tech or the whole community though.
