Maybe generations that are raised with the medium of digital content and the cultural maneuvers it requires will figure things out. But most of their controversies had that trademark smell of internet forum drama, where they get used to wide censorship powers and an adoring fanbase - they couldn't handle the conversation moving outside their control, and it made their animosity for the audience worse with each big bruhaha
