     @greentext When you think about it gramma’s smarter than her modern equivalent. All her life stuff was made off of radio waves. If she doesn’t want snooping, she’s kinda right in thinking she could stop that interference with a faraday cage.

     You think her 19 yo granddaughter could do better than this? Just try asking them to explain the basic foundations of internet connection, before you know it they’ll get pissy with you and say wild stuff like “It can’t use radio waves, that’s for music” or “it can’t use cable, all internet is wireless”

     @dia @greentext I still get angry at the knee-jerk corrections I’ve gotten from exes. It’s always bizarre stuff, too, like explaining that space is truly empty only to be told “no matter what there’s always air there, it’s impossible for there to be NOTHING”

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @greentext And grandma is not entirely wrong. There used to be technology that could read CRT monitors from a short distance because those CRT monitors did emit EM waves depending on what the ray was writing on the screen. I don't think that works with LCD monitors, but who knows what spying tech exists today.

     I should ask my mother to teach me how to knit and operate a sowing machine. My socks get holes a lot and I end up throwing them away. There's actually a lot of stuff I should ask my parents to teach me how to do.
