Running windows in a VM at least you can just tab out of the windows window back to linux when you are done. Seems worth the effort to try and get it running in a vm. If it won't work in a vm or figuring out the hardware passthrough is too much falling back to dual boot is always an option, albeit IMO a suboptimal one. -

I have a mac for work, but the main thing I use it for is code editing and ssh to linux machines where the real work is done.
