I've been wondering as an ordinary (non-enterprise) user what I should switch to for VMs in general. I'd switched to VirtualBox a bit ago, but it seems that it has a really bad reputation. I hadn't really been following this stuff. Other than it though, I've only really seen qemu as a good option and it's far harder to use (not to mention runs much worse in Windows -- I wand VMs to work equally in both or at least as equally as they can.)

This is to run directly on a server then. I asked my question in the wrong place then because it's not really applicable (I'm looking for the kind that runs on top of an OS.)
