   I don't think I'm gonna finish Elden Ring. It's just not that interesting. It's essentially "easy" because it's all just ultimately a single player grind-fest. Too hard? Just level up. Maybe you random get the meta weapon, or maybe you look up the meta build. It ultimately destroys any sense of accomplishment or difficulty.
   
   The most fun I had in the game is when I opened a treasure chest at the beginning and teleported to the hard-ass zone. Then I fought my way back to the start without realizing I could fast travel.

     @NEETzsche it's a failure to balance. They just added all the features and shrugged knowing that any balance issues are ultimately fixed by infinite grind.

     I think the very concept of the "meta" has destroyed gayming. And I play games where you really need to learn the "meta" in order to even come close to competing, so. There you go.

     @NonPlayableClown I'm not, I'm kinda just aimlessly exploring the map trying to figure out what areas I'm actually supposed to be in. I essentially skipped over a large amount of the beginning of the game and so it's weird.

     @crunklord420 @NEETzsche All to make the gamers hooked in order to make them more likely to continue paying for service. See also: slow death of dedicated servers getting replaced by matchmaking (which has its own algorithm not unlike the praise/punishment you receive in religious cults).
