     @coin Well think about this.

     The mob sees a fediverse search engine, and they say "This guy has to be punished, how can we punish him?" and their only option for doing so was pressuring Jerry.

     So that means, if I want to get unbanned, I really only have to convince the mob that an unban will get them the result they want.

     That's why the check for post visibility is the *first* action taken when a new status is seen. A promise is a promise.
