   @thor if twitter didn't have multiple data centers powering your feed I might agree with you. That wouldn't dissuade me from preferring less central control, but they are running thousands of machines anyway so it's kinda moot.

     inconvenient fact: having it all centralised and running on one company's servers is *probably* the greener option - all these independent Linux servers running everywhere is likely putting out more CO2 than just leaving it to what one billionaire would do.
