   Looked up TheBlaze for that basednig joke and decided to see what their top 5 wife-finding tips were. I'm sure they mean well but it's kind of funny how this sounds like something I would have read in the atlantic in 2003. Most of the advice is sane, like not wanting a reskinned bro-friend for a wife, but I have zero idea who these "successful, unmarried men who have utterly unrealistic requirements around things like “intellectual conversation.” are.

     This all seems telling, this is a mainstream conservative journalist admitting that the things his water cooler friends thinks are fairly liberal in nature, and try as they might they just...can't...find a place to talk politics. Huh, almost as if their milquetoast faggotry gets lambasted everywhere they take it online.

     Strange that it has these bits of actual normalcy interspersed with this bizarre design for an intellectual sparring partner. Guys think they want girls who are into their same interests because we love our interests - to have someone who lets you maximize social efficiency by spending time w/ friends, hobbying AND being with the wife so you can have the best of every world - not because we want someone else to study the ottoman empire and draw analogies about their dancing butt-boys over dinner

     @givenup It's a window into normiecons journalists - been pretty normal for people to say "I just wanna creampie a simple farmgirl" for years but these guys somehow think we're out here turning our noses up at having to creampie a 101 IQ instead

     @WashedOutGundamPilot IIRC the IQ range of the most successful marriages was the guy's IQ being five points above his wife's. Close enough that they're compatible, with the edge pointing in the right direction to keep everything well-ordered. I can't see a gap that's all that much larger not leading to resentment from one party or the other, at least among relatively normal people.
     
     All of that said, the guys saying "intellectual conversation" are just CYAing because they know that their actual preferences aren't polite conversation.

     @AmericanChampion She only needs to be moderately smart, maybe enough to help the kids through 8th grade homework in book studies, and simply not dumb enough to be scammed and grifted. Guys don't realize how saturated they are w/ liberal priors, they think women should be men
