>"Soviet tanks were created to solve many problems. British and NATO tanks are mainly designed for sniper shooting - tank against tank," says Ukrainian tanker "Keyfarik"
Brutal

@weaf they don't know how to use the western equipment without breaking it, which is exactly what I expected would happen since we first started talking about sending them our shit
I'm sure the logistical and maintenance training problems are real but yeah if you drive your tank on the road all the time of course the track pads are going to wear out fast. and they're supposed to be changed fairly often anyway, it doesn't take that long to do and you don't need special equipment
they probably aren't even doing basic maintenance and then they cry when shit breaks. western units do maintenance checks continuously and the designs assume that will be happening
and they broke the computer stabilization system, how? those things do not just break on their own all the time, they probably smashed their gun barrel into something while moving or slewed their barrel into a tree or light pole
giving these retards irreplaceable high tech equipment was extremely foolish but it's good for defense stocks so whatever

@weaf >5 tanks are mobility kills because of incompetence
aaaaaaAAAAAAAA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
CANT BOIL WATER
CANT TURN NUT
-
@eee >supply a over dozen different outdated armor models from different countries
>suddenly realize you can't maintain them or deploy them
>ask for more
What did they mean by this
-
@deprecated_ii @BroDrillard @weaf the ukes dont have a choice but make excuses on behalf of their zog masters.
the reason why their tanks are out of comission is because they meet enemy resistance. if they wanted their equipment in working order, they should have never engaged in the first place.
cant get shot if you arent there. cant get bogged down if you dont drive on mud.
-
@BroDrillard @weaf That excuse does not carry water. You either have logistical lines or you don't. You either do your maintenance or you don't. If you can't maintain your forces where they are, you pull them back. You do not attack piecemeal and you do not get strung out. You do not cling to positions you cannot hold. This is warfare 101.
If you gave the Russians our equipment they would do just fine, because they're a professional military. The Ukrainians are a rabble of morons and I'm sick of their whining. They blame everyone but themselves for their problems, no matter how much help they get.
Also I look forward to being able to tell everyone to fuck off when they want my advice and help in the coming troubles, since I only "shot at goat herders" and obviously have no valuable experience with war.

Being in the middle of a high intensity land-war against a peer is different from occasionally shooting at goat-herders toting AKs. Equipment needs to be sturdy, and degrade gracefully because there may not be opportunity to maintain it every other day. This is the AK vs AR difference writ large.

@weaf what problems do soviet tanks solve?
-
@mac_ack I think what the guy being interviewed meant is that Soviet tanks were designed to be generally good in all categories like firepower, armor, maintenance, etc, while the NATO tanks were designed to be very specialized to do one task very well which is destroying enemy armor.
