I just think it's so apparent what's up: The "junk fees" discourse is perfectly designed (well, 'perfect' in that sense of pointless marketeer philosophy) to be a red herring to lambast in the public eye without damaging democrat donors or unsolvable inflation. They can't make a box of saltines be ¢99 again, nor can they actually tackle something like a real fee that adds needless cost like amazon/seller or apple app store fees (the latter basically making all digital subs add 40% across the board)
Instead they target the JUNK FEE, added costs that only the bottom rungs on the economic ladder see. Bounced checks, late fees, extra shit for concert tickets online and another 9 line items on your miami-atlanta ticket on spirit airlines.
It's an interesting tactic to watch, I'm just blown away it actually found footing with a breathing human (NPC)
