We are all aware of the recent controversy surrounding RHEL and CentOS. At the same time, Ubuntu has been introducing some controversial changes, such as the snaps, LXD, and restrictions on updating through apt repositories (Ubuntu Pro with 'esm-apps'). As a result, I have concluded that Debian #Linux is the best choice for those seeking a reliable & secure Linux distro that avoids such drama. Of course, there are other candidates, like Alpine. Arch is good, but I hate to use it on servers.

BTW, I use Arch Linux.

Hextore (hextore@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 07-Mar-2024 07:33:16 JST Hextore @nixCraft I reached the same conclusion some time ago. Debian on my personal server and Debian-dressed-like-old-windows for my relatives' no-you-dont-need-a-new-laptop facebook machines. Arch for my desktop/laptop.
