   hmm, inkscape seems to have a bug where its renderer prefers the "stroke=#color" attribute and renders that color, but the stroke paint panel only affects the style attribute and doesn't see the stroke attribute at all?!

     @doctormo @epilys omg i see that my inkscape is version 1.2.2 from 2022-12-01, probably ancient? i shall upgrade at once

     The attribute should be cleared on set. But this sounds like a bug for sure. Can you check a previous version to compare?

     @doctormo @epilys ok, have upgraded to inkscape 1.3 (2023-07-21) from debian experimental and the behavior is the same
