@vhns Nice statue. Why is it there?
-
@coin It's a sculpture by Rafael Sartori. It was done as an homage to Samuel Grimbaum - and migrants to the city alike - , survivor of the holocaust and his family. The surname Grinbaum means "tree that casts a shade, that shelters".
Grimbaum was born in 1936, in Varsovia, Poland. He lived in Curitiba (city in which the picture was taken), city which he adopted after 12 years of Asylum in Bolivia (from the holocaust).
