@WandererUber There's always a quality gradient, ergonomic differences, none of it is ever addressed. They treat it like a limb.
It's dumb because they would have their own history, lore, they're heirlooms that represent things to people. This show did it right. It fits into the story, the family, it's beloved as a companion, just like IRL heirlooms are.
