     The reason NovelAI exists was because of the AI Dungeon filter controversy. I don’t think any sane person would be opposed to a filter against the illegal shit, but how they did it was so flawed and reaching that even off-handedly complaining about how the laptop you bought 5 years ago would result in your story getting moderated and checked. Not to mention that some published stories will also portray such events, not to promote them or arouse but as part of an overall story.

     NovelAI instead puts all the responsibility of what their machine learning models have written on the user, rather than on them, and I think that’s what OpenAI should do as well.
