     @merchantHelios @Dicer Ah, then you’d never get it. For a short time engagement they can be lovely.

     A woman like that is like an old, cantankerous sports car that takes attention to drive her past 80% of her capability. Like a rear-engined, air cooled porsche, hooking past the apex and feeling just how much traction the tires have to give you before you go ass-end off the side of the mountain - there’s a tremendous sense of satisfaction in taming a woman who seems utterly intractable to the incompetent.

     Sure, but I’m not going to the track in a commuter car, I’m chasing a state of flow, I’m trying to elicit a response from my body I can’t get anywhere else

     (Doesn’t mean I’m commuting in this thing, but dating a crazy, ‘difficult’ girl is good to do a couple times in life, teaches you a lot)

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Dicer she isn't worth having because if she's going to be that autistic about a kiss, because then everything else is going to be made more difficult by proxy. Nobody has an attitude in a situational vacuum. Both Rei and Asuka are an abysmal value proposition for entirely different reasons

     @RupertvonRipp @merchantHelios @Dicer It’s a fun phase, it just can’t last forever (though I’d actually enjoy a hot tempered woman with the right combination, compared to a lethargic, bored one)

     The next phase is sharing adventure with the kids and seeing the people you create out of the ether. Much more rewarding and enjoyable, all considered

     @RupertvonRipp @merchantHelios @Dicer You can always take the kids though. People in the states really infantilize children and expect a very low bar for their capability. I’ve met 9 yos who keep a full time job and buy cigarettes for dad on their way back home. Americans act like that’s lofty for their 18 year olds

     Our dad always took us out on that stuff, too. We grew up doing dangerous, “holy shit you brought your KIDS?” kind of stuff. Was very good for the horizons. I guess that’s why I got the bug for it, I felt like I had to go set out all alone to prove I could do it without daddy shepherding me to safety all along
