     @All_bonesJones @coolboymew You have to think with the most recent generations they're not trying to put out designs that work for Pokemon, they want designs they can make merch out of. The Japanese fans used to blame James Turner, the guy that ran the studio that made the Gamecube games, but now that he's gone I don't think they have anywhere to point the finger anymore.

     @mrsaturday @All_bonesJones @coolboymew R/S/E was imo the last generation that had decent monsters. At heart I wil always have nostalgia for the Gen 1 monsters. Gen 2 were a decent follow up but now they're not even trying.

     I actually think having only new Pokemon in BW was a bold choice but this is also when the designs started slipping.

     @All_bonesJones @ooignignoktoo @coolboymew Every gen has good ones, but recently it seems like they've been putting all of their effort into starters and phoning it in for everything else. You can tell that they started running out of ideas in Gen 5, as much as I liked the games.
