     @doctorsex How do you get the truss rod in though? Thought it was prickly getting it balanced just right. I've felt some great work from 2nd worlders - good wood and a good finish gives you like, 8/10 of the enjoyment of something obsessively made in the USA

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @doctorsex the fretboard is glued on top of the neck, so installing a truss rod is just an open cut ditch in a manner of speaking

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @doctorsex I must admit I thought some extra-long drilling was involved before I looked into it, and then I felt silly for never making the connection since all my guitars have different woods for the fretboard anyway

     Mileage may vary for foreign made components in general. Though in the last couple of years the quality on those has gone up quite a bit. I would say for super budget instruments (400 usd and less) you're either buying it because you intend on changing stuff or you just really need a cheap instrument, and if it's the latter I'd check it out in person if possible. For the truss rod, you basically just route out a channel in the neck, drop the rod in, and then glue the fretboard back on top. Pretty easy stuff.
