     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Elfie @basadeskaiser I have first-hand experience working in the Navy's supply chain and maintaining systems beyond obsolescence. My career is built on being a "young-buck" replacement for an old boomer that retired last year. I am not exaggerating when I say that the Navy is trying to keep the old shit working for another 50 years, partly because they can't get people competent enough to field new systems. Systems that were fielded in the 80s are planned to last over 50 more years, with the presumption that the next couple of generations will figure our shit out for us. For every year that goes by, another two years get added to that 50-year timer.
     
     The generation that fielded those systems in the 80s when they were in their 20s and 30s are retiring now, and it's a crisis. Those old farts aren't going to pass down any knowledge, and new hires are mystery meat retards that can't learn anything useful anyway because they won't hire enough competent Whites. They can't stop the stagnation, and have no recourse other than to helplessly try. And then assume that they can do it again in another 40 years. It's hopeless.
     
     If you don't die young, you will live to see the end of the GAE. I promise.

     @Elfie @basadeskaiser Yeah we’ve talked about how fun this is before. if you want a laugh just read through the GAO reports on the navy, there’s so much wrong they can’t even begin to address a fraction of it. Everything’s cannibalized, everyone’s overworked, nobody’s teaching what they need to, it’s just a rich tapestry of “oof”.

     @Elfie @basadeskaiser This is why I cringe when people sit there mocking the other navies like we’re SOOOOOOO much better. We’re in pretty bad decay, and it’s just really picking up speed. We can’t maintain what we have, we can’t get any good personnel, and we can’t climb out of our hole any more. Things are bleak for the military
