     @Tony @SK1ZM you should look at inkscape for logo design imo. Vector graphics are a lot easier to scale to whatever size you need.

     im only looking for digital media stuff. I made my businesses logo with google paint, and honestly it would be nice to have a program which is more robust than that because tracing with individual lines is a bitch lol

     Just remember that Gimp only has RGB mode for digital media, it doesn't have CMYK mode for print. 🧐

     This is true, I usually use google paint or whatever. lol So I just want a drawing tool and/snip, ect.
     
     But I also sometimes make PNGs and logo files for work, so that would actually be usefull too

     Gimp is fine, inkscape is fine. Dynamic duo.
     
     Been using gimp since 2010. "Justwerks" bitmap editor.
     
     Inkscape is a "justwerks" vector editor.
     
     Krita is trannyware based on Paubalo's (male) recommendation

     I've been pulling my hair out trying to get a logo to work on a webpage with CSS so this doesn't look nearly as frustrating as that turned out to be 😂

     it's so fucking ugly
     switching between tools is a huge pain
     krita has some annoying quirks but it's much more intuitive than gimp i feel

     I find GIMP quite versatile, from making animated gifs, original clip-art-esque compositions and (a ton of) political compasses. A bit of a learning curve when you get into advanced features, but I think comparable to about 2008 photoshop for basic image manipulation tasks.

     I like GIMP, I've been using it since I stopped being able to get photoshop on the pirate bay (idk, like 2008 or so), so I'm pretty used to it. I've heard good things about Krita, but haven't dove into it, may be better if you're starting fresh.

     .xcf preserves your layers (and maybe undo history?) so if you Doh! you can come back and fix something without too much trouble. Export works, but if I'm just whipping out a quick meme, I'll skip that and use "copy visible" then just paste it where I need it.

     It saves with a weird ass file type automatically lol, I figured out the exporting though.

     I downloaded gimp, seems to be good for what I need it for.
     
     I've only really ever used google paint, and it's pretty similar to that so for my needs, for now, it's good.

     Just remember to use separate layers for everything. You can flatten all layers before you export, to save space.
