@graf@disclosetv@Twoinchdestroya@jeffcliff the current problem is that we have an immensely shitty bill about internet website verification with 0 solutions to the verification and it applies to all the websites and only the libs are against it
On the other hand, could this possibly stop their shitty bill about the algorithm or has that passed beyond recovery already?
Basically -ALL websites that has 18+ content would have to force verification -They have no idea how to enforce it -The verification has to delete the data after, but the "consequence" of not doing it is redirected to something else and it's basically they'll send them a very strongly worded letter and that's it
@baraposter@coolboymew@disclosetv@Twoinchdestroya@jeffcliff there’s no way they can enforce it unless every country is on board. i can just pop on a VPN, use AI to generate an ID from Russia or somewhere and thats it. i will also not be complying
-The websites would have to register -The websites would have to have an ID in the database or something -Your accounts, recognition by IP, etc. would have to retain said IDs one way or another -AI face recognition is a joke, would obviously not work for several reasons and they'd quickly have to turn into something else quick -Even if an independant checks it's your account, then deletes all infos related to it and it's just a number after, I highly doubt things are just going to stay that way for a long time
Even with the utmost piracy protection actually working, you'd just need a little hack,or just any slightly bad intentions, for your 18+ sites visits to get out
@graf NC wants a similar thing in the US for adult sites. and I understand their point because keeping kids away from porn is always good but holy fuck I just do not feel comfortable uploading that info, no matter how horny I am. @jeffcliff@coolboymew@Twoinchdestroya@disclosetv
@coolboymew people were making fun of furry coomers for being against this sort of thing but they've very much got a point. Not only is it a major privacy/security risk, it's also a 1st amendment violation.
I hate to sound like a canceldon faggot but also there's the accessibility issues (Captcha has previously been blasted for this, aside from the fact that it doesn't fucking work)
As always, the solution is that kids don't have smartphones and tablets, and are especially not let unsupervised with them. Why in the the fuck does kids needs unlimited data on their phone?
@coolboymew I think the most mind-boggling part is you have people acting like "ohh, only the coomers are mad about this. porn addicts on suicide watch" instead of the reasonable "hey? what the fuck!" @jeffcliff@graf@Twoinchdestroya@disclosetv
If you never had a parent who would cut the cables of your computer setup, yank the internet out, or rip the door out because grades were bad without bothering to find out why (it's that darn glowing rectangle), you'll never know why that mindset leads to the kid gooning on VRChat/Discord/FFXIV and ordering shitty black market HRT.
