  It's a large part of why our ancestors discouraged not just miscegenation but even pairing across sufficiently large ethnic gaps within the race, why people were encouraged to only look within their denomination, etc.

  @DEERBLOOD @PvtProperty @Robert_Edwardly @fishsticks My wife and I share the same background, almost eerily identical down to 'has ancestors from the same obscure region, lol turns out we have relatives who work together at the same places' and the like.
  
  We've basically mind-melded and have the same reaction to the same input stimulus at the same time more than you'd think.
  
  This doesn't happen with a large ethnic-cultural gap.

  You eventually run out of things you have in common. The language barrier results in miscommunications, and you realize you dont want anything to do with their parents
  
  In short, its overrated and there's a lot you leave out when theory crafting and assuming theyre more traditional and feminine

  Maybe an americanized chink would be diff if she’s 2 generations removed from her culture, but it just seems like putting a labrador up against a pitbull - she’s gonna dominate him and he’ll be sitting there with an idle smile on his face thinking it’s normal for his wife to be dominance humping him

I make a pretty reasonable income for my age and where I live, but these asian girls I dated were much wealthier than me basically treated me like I was beneath them once the relationship reached a certain point
  
  Like being told "id introduce you to my family but youre too poor" when you make 6 figured in a small midwest city is a strange feeling

I work with one sometimes and you can just tell when he starts talking about his marriage that it’s not quite what he expected. He thought she’d be in dating-mode forever, easygoing and trying to impress him forever.
  Instead she got the ring on and threw all that out the window, leaving a severe, judgmental taskmaster. He always tells me “hahah just wait, once you put a ring on her you’re done, you’re never having sex ever again, she’s gonna become a different person overnight” as if his garbage marriage is the norm. (which as a boomer on marriage number two, it kind of is)
  It’s hard to watch someone go into dating a “trad” chink thinking she’s playing everything at face value, being totally honest when there’s a fine chance it’s an act - a penis fly trap
