      @monsterislandcolonizer I remember this one. I thought it was too on-the-nose but having met people like this I wouldn’t totally write it off. It’s just the little things in there like the old people remark and the compendium of marvel w/ star wars. Seems like a LOT of what we want to hear, but I’ve seen terrible naming forever.

      Utah IS very striver-y, like they want to be on the cutting edge of whatever they think is “cool”….but it never is. I could totally see them naming their kids after pop culture shit just like people naming their daughter “Khaleesi” from game of thrones after the 3rd of 8 seasons. People never, ever look ahead in naming their children. It’s always this selfish activity of what THEY wish their name was instead of what equips that child for life.

      I’m still torn. There are realistic elements because I’ve met people that would totally fit this description (even met their adult children and they’re literally this cheesy. “Disnoids” are freakish)

      @Zealist @monsterislandcolonizer Only seen a couple but one was one of the weirdest guys I’ve ever met. On-duty he was a complete, insane adherent to the rules in everything he did - the worst officer you could imagine.

      Off the clock he was pretty cool, really into the dirtbag metal scene. Was really weird to behold

      I think the "weird name" thing is because people are trying to differentiate themselves. Theres a culture trying to form. On 30 years its gonna be like how all black people named "jaquadarius" end up in jail but black people named named "Walther" don't.
