I don't understand why my workout soreness has went from immediately the day after, to the day after that (????)
-
@coolboymew because when you stress your body a lot for a few days in a row it starts coping well for survival reasons, and it can't just stop being sore when you aren't working out, so it copes very well for an extended period of time, and after you've rested for a while it realizes "oh fuck I should be sore right now"
-
@meso I see

@coolboymew if its sore for multiple days you overdid it. iirc. wait until it stops being sore and then pick it up again the next workout day.
some of the fitness bros talked about you'll screw up muscle growth trying to work out while its still repairing.
-
@icedquinn yeah I usually wait until it stopped being sore until doing it again
However, it used to be sore immediately the day after. Now it takes 2 days after the exercise day for the arms or legs to be sore
-
@coolboymew like its better to wait until you can do all of the reps than to break them again with a sub-par workout
-
@coolboymew your brain basically just stops the body from hurting until it knows it's safe to rest
-
@meso that probably makes sense because I do arms, then legs, then rest day and it probably got used to that order
